Sometimes the perfect tile does not exist yet. You may have a colour that must match a piece of stone, a period interior you want to echo, a pattern you have sketched yourself, or a space with its own particular proportions. Custom tiles make all of these possible, and because every Bassani’s design is already an original by Claudio Bassani, designing a tile for your space is a natural extension of the way we work.

When a custom tile makes sense

Custom work is not only for large projects. Some of the most rewarding commissions are small and personal:

• Matching a palette. Adjust an existing design to a specific colour that coordinates with cabinetry, natural stone, fabric or a brand identity.
• Period interiors. A design inspired by the original features of an older home helps new tiled areas sit naturally alongside them.
• A signature pattern. Turn your own drawing, a family motif or a meaningful symbol into a tile design.
• Hospitality and retail spaces. Create a distinctive design for a restaurant, hotel or boutique that guests will remember.
• Personal details. A tiled panel with a name, a date or a favourite motif, set into a kitchen wall or an entrance hall, makes a charming small commission.

What you can customise

Design

Start from one of our existing patterns and adapt it, or bring your own artwork. Claudio Bassani can develop a sketch or a photograph into a pattern that repeats correctly across a wall, so that the joins between tiles look intentional rather than accidental.

Colour

The palette is flexible, from classic cobalt to terracotta, sage, ochre, navy or the softest neutrals. If you can, give us a precise colour reference, such as a paint name and code, because colours on screen vary from device to device.

Size

Size can be adapted to your project. Share the dimensions of each area to be tiled and the scale you have in mind, and Claudio will advise on the tile size that best suits your design and your space.

Finish and application

Choose the finish that suits the room, and tell us exactly where the tiles will go, such as a kitchen backsplash, a bathroom wall or an interior floor. Like every Bassani’s tile, custom tiles are for interior use only and are not suitable for outdoor installation.

How the custom process works

1. Share your vision. Tell us about the space and send photographs, sketches, colour references and approximate measurements through a free design consultation.
2. Design and digital preview. Claudio Bassani develops the design and we send you a digital preview for approval, so you can refine colour and detail before anything is produced.
3. Precision production. Once you approve the design, your tiles are produced by machine for consistent colour, size and finish.
4. Packed and delivered. Your tiles are carefully packed and delivered to your home or project, anywhere in the world.

Because every commission is different, quantities, pricing and timing are discussed individually once we understand your project.

• Measurements of each area to be tiled.
• Materials already chosen, such as countertops, flooring, metal finishes and paint colours.
• Inspiration images, sketches or examples of tiles you love.
• Any key dates in your build or renovation schedule.
